Concept testing, which can happen both qualitatively or quantitatively, has proved valuable in offering an objective insight into the public's perception of a film at its concept stage, and can be employed in many ways.

Research can be used to ascertain actor and / or cast suitability and is also ideally suited to gauge public interest in franchises and adaptations, whether they be from a book, television or the stage.
